I (heart) success

Never underestimate the power of an outfit that works.

My only goal today was to not look like a cartoon character. Not a lofty goal, I’ll admit. But last night, I reminded myself that I needed to think about what shoes would be worn with the outfit the next day.

What good is mise en place if you don’t think through the eventualities, right? If you end up with elf boots and Peter Pan pants? So I knew I was not going to give up on the color bottoms…it feels like springtime and I wanted to dress like it.

So white Adidas should work with my red jeans, right?

Yay! They did!

Happy in so many ways.

This was a short little post, but after yesterday’s debacle I needed a success story!

I am passionate about contentment. This is a challenge, because I am equally passionate about progress. I get up at 4:00AM to chip away at a solution to this monolithic problem: how to make progress on my contentment. Born and raised in the USA, I married a French philosophy teacher in 1999. We have lived in France since 2007. We stayed young and carefree until life threw us two curveballs in the form of little humans one after another in 2015 and 2017 respectively. Now I am a slightly older, slightly more exhausted version of myself, but with mystery stains on my walls and a never-ending pile of laundry.
